In this presentation, Principal Consultant Karen Lloyd discusses how to meet the challenge of accurately estimating market risk based on a range of influencing factors, with a focus on the valuation of mining projects at a level of maturity where it would be considered reasonable to use cashflow analysis.

Karen Lloyd has more than 20 years international resource industry experience gained with some of the major mining, consulting and investment houses globally. She specialises in independent reporting, mineral asset valuation, study management, project due diligence, and corporate advisory services. Karen has worked in funds management and investment advisory for debt, mezzanine and equity financing and provides consulting and advisory in support of project finance in the resources sector both onshore Australia and overseas. She has experience in the valuation and evaluation of mineral projects worldwide and has been responsible for multi-disciplinary teams covering precious metals, base metals, industrial minerals and bulk commodities in Australia, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Europe. Karen holds a Bachelor of Science with honours from the University of Manchester in the UK and an MBA from Curtin University in Western Australia. She is currently completing her PhD on the market risk for gold projects listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
