Geochemistry

Traditional geochemistry focused on the exploration needs of the mining industry, looking for anomalies that would point the way to new deposits. Then came environmental geochemistry that assessed the potential for the environmental impact from operations. More recently, geochemistry has developed a branch into geometallurgy that combines an understanding of the minerals and their properties with the way they are liberated into commodities. Geochemistry at SRK has evolved to encompass all these aspects.
The SRK geochemistry team has a breadth of experience and is a combination of geochemists and geochemical engineers. Working together, they can help define and assess problems, and provide engineered solutions. The team regularly provides exploration services and can cover all environmental assessment from baseline studies through to closure evaluation.
The team works closely with academic institutions, where required, to keep at the forefront of this developing field and has an extensive publication list. This enables the team to provide the most up to date and appropriate solutions to the clients and to develop unique solutions where existing solutions are not adequate.
