Approach

The basis of all good process design is sound interpretation of comprehensive testwork performed on representative samples.  SRK’s metallurgists and process engineers are experienced in the definition and interpretation of testwork and the development of flexible metallurgical process plant flowsheets.  Once testwork is complete and the flowsheet established, SRK can:

  • Prepare a comprehensive design basis defining all metallurgical plant design parameters
  • Prepare mass/metallurgical balances
  • Define equipment requirements
  • Calculate the electrical supply requirements
  • Prepare instrumentation process data sheets from P&IDs
  • Work closely with recognised engineering companies to develop appropriate engineering infrastructure detail

Experience

  • Full process design of a lead/zinc concentrator as part of a turnkey mine development
  • Metallurgical study for a plant producing gravity gold, copper flotation concentrate and a magnetite concentrate , including mass and metallurgical balances for a range of ores, flow sheeting, equipment selection and sizing and estimation of capital and operating costs
  • Process design package for an effluent treatment plant as part of a chemical complex in SE Asia, including mass and metallurgical balances, flow sheeting, equipment specification, definition of P&IDs, preparation of instrument data sheets and outline plant layouts
